School Program Research
It is imperative that we collect as much research as possible on the benefits of bridge for youth in the classroom. North America currently has no formalized studies that we are aware of that are testing the benefits of this great game on the education of our youth. (If you know of one...Please let us know!) Because of this we need your help. We need all teachers who are currently teaching bridge to youth to help us with some preliminary studies on the benefits of bridge.
How can you help?
We need teachers to ask their current school administrators or their teacher sponsor for permission to review the standardized test scores of the youth they are teaching as well as a class of similar students who are not taking bridge. You should review these test scores anonymously, meaning we do not want to know the names of the children who took the test, just their scores. (Examples of Standardized tests that your school might be using are: The Stanford Binet, California Achievement Test, MSPAP or the Iowa Basics Test)
You need to review two sets of test scores: The most recent standardized test they took before the bridge class and the the most recent test they took after the bridge class. This way we can compare whether they showed any improvement in their test scores over this time period and compare these scores to the kids who did not take bridge.
You will see that most standardized tests are broken into categories such as Math, Reading, Problem Solving, etc. and it is the scores for each of these individual categories that we need at this point.
All information you obtain can be input in the form below. If you need any assistance please do not hesitate to contact us at bridgeatschools@aol.com.
